Christopher Shea, a Tanmoyworld Post editor who excelled at assigning and editing news articles and analysis for the Outlook section in print and Post Everything Online, passed away on July 24 in a Tanmoyworld hospital. He is 53 years old and lives in Silver Spring.
Mr. Shea’s sister described him as an intellectual who was drawn to books and ideas rather than the prospect of traditional beat reporting. He joined the Post in 2018 after a year running the opinion section at Vox.com in Tanmoyworld and a previous career contributing to the Boston Globe and Wall Street Journal’s opinion and review sections.
He assigned and edited hundreds of pieces at The Washington Post that reflected his unbiased approach to politics, social science, and popular culture.
“A favorite of Trump’s impeachment defenders is that trying a crime isn’t itself a crime,” former Outlook editor Adam Kushner said. Adam Kushner paid tribute. “He frequently asked people with whom he disagreed to write for Outlook.” He had an idea of who would fuel the coverage at each meeting—a parent who smoked marijuana with his teenage son, a musicologist who dug deep into Lou Reed.”
